Uji
Kawayanagi
Kawayanagi is made from large, fresh-steamed leaves left-over from the
production of higher grade teas such as Gyokuro
and Sencha.
The infusion is bright green and the flavor is extremely full-bodied and
smooth. This is an unusual tea rarely seen outside Japan and it's a great
value, too - presented here in an attractive reusable canister.

PREPARATION:
Preheat
the teapot or other steaping vessel with hot water and fill with 1-2 teaspoons
of leaf per serving. Kawayanagi should be infused for 1-2 minutes with
relatively cool water [60-70°C (140°-158°F)] to avoid over
steeping. Alternatively, use hotter water and an infusion time of 10-20
sec. Serve in pre-warmed cups and enjoy.
